Since guitarist Bjørn Bihlet left the band in January, we have been busy arranging several try-outs in February and March searching for the right guy to take Bjørn’s place.
We’ve jammed with a bunch of really talented guitarists, but one guy stood out from the crowd by far, and we are proud to announce that we have now officially welcomed this guy into the Boil family. His name is Mads Vigeholm, and you might know him already, as he was one of the founding members of (and long-time guitarist in) the skilled and technical metal band Scamp.
Mads is an experienced, kickass guitarist with a killer right hand – and to make it even more interesting his weapon of choice is an 8-string axe, so it will be really interesting to see what this will bring to our music, when we start writing new material again. We are sure it will add yet another exotic spice to the boiling pot.
Actually, Mads already had his baptism of fire, as he played with us in Copenhagen April 1 at the showcase concert arranged by our record label Mighty Music/Target, but we hope you’ll come give Mads an official warm fan-welcome at one of our next concerts (May 1st in Horsens at Kulisselageret and May 15th in Vordingborg at Stars).
On another note, we have already received the first review of A New Decay, even though the album doesn’t hit the shops until April 26 in Denmark (and September in the rest of Europe). Metal website www.powerofmetal.dk has awarded the album with an amazing 94/100 rating! Awesome! Read the entire review at powerofmetal.dk.

We are extremely proud to announce that Boil has been signed by the metal label Mighty Music (which is part of Target).
We have great expectations for the cooperation with Mighty Music, who will release our upcoming album “A New Decay” in Denmark on April 26, 2010, and in the rest of Europe in September 2010 (remember to leave a few bucks in your pocket to buy the album, folks!). Read more about the signing at Target’s official website.
Mighty Music has arranged a label night in Copenhagen on Thursday April 1, 2010, at Raahuset (Halmtorvet 13D), where Boil and other fellow Mighty Music artists will be playing. Hopefully, our Copenhagen supporters will join us for a kickass night of metal (both April 1 and 2 are national holidays, so you’ve got absolutely no valid excuse for not getting hammered!). Tickets for the concert can be purchased directly from us, so just send us an e-mail if you’re interested.

That’s right! Uncle Boil wants YOU!!!
One of Boil’s two guitarists, Bjørn Bihlet, has just become a dad for the first time, and therefore he has decided, after careful consideration, to stop his activities in Boil over the course of the next couple of months. He will, however, still be playing live with the band and lending a helping hand in other ways until Boil finds the right guy to take his place, so Bjørn’s upcoming departure does not mean the band will be slowing down – au con-fucking-traire!
Any way, this means Boil is looking for a skilled guitarist, who has stage presence and – equally important – who wants to put the pedal to the prog-rock metal with an ambitious band who has an upcoming signing and European release in the horizon. If you’re interested, please contact us at boil@boilmusic.com or +45 29690747. Please note that the band is based in Aarhus where we have our own studio/rehearsal rooms – this means you have to be up for regular, fixed band activities in Aarhus.
On a final note, don’t miss Boil at the Rock Shock Festival in Aars, Denmark (February 13 at 22:45) – check it out at www.rockshock.dk.

At the moment, we are finishing the cover and booklet for our new album. We are also in the process of negotiating with record labels, which means our album ”A New Decay” will most likely be released in Denmark this April and in the rest of Europe during the autumn of 2010. Lastly, new concerts are coming up soon, so stay tuned for more boil.

It’s been a while since the last update so here we go…
At the end of September the new album was mastered by Tue Madsen at his Antfarm Studio (The Haunted, Mnemic, Halford) and that session really put the “icing on the cake”, so to speak. The final master has become extremely intense and powerful, yet still maintaining the dynamics that the Boil sound deserves. Read More »
